About Dracul

Learn more about Dracul, what we stand for, our Wallachian history, and those who've passed from our community.

Dracul is proud to hold cultures of Romanian, Russian, and German. With this being the case, many of the very famous models of these cultures have become heroes to the people of Dracul. Learn about our heroes today and what they did for the Romanian, Russian, and German Peoples. The Commonwealth of Dracul takes its name from the Prince of Wallachia, This is attributed to why Vlad III is a national hero of Dracul. Dracul was established on September 25, 2017 in Houston, Texas by Dmitri Howie, Stephen Luke, and Mark Millner. The plan of a micronation began after Stephen Luke researched micronations on YouTube and several internet forums. The three ultimately envisioned a great micronation, capable of growing beyond current accomplishments. This was to prove that any micronation could go as far as they wanted. The idea, originally proposed by Stephen Luke, was eventually welcomed by the two friends Howie and Millner.

Stephen Luke was born in Romania, while Dmitri Howie claimed bloodline to Vlad III. It was this very fact that led many to believe why the two primary founders chose Vlad III and Romanian heritage for their micronation basis. Mark Millner, co-founder, began his connection with Dracul as an average citizen, then joining the Draculian Navy. After several months of dedication and assistance in ceremonies, Howie and Luke made the decision to grant Millner "Founding Father" Status. Millner's popularity soared as he was seen as flag bearer in most photos and ceremony events on Dracul 1 Television.

The three founders ultimately concluded that this country project would not only be for entertainment purposes, but advocacy as well, such as suicide awareness and anti bullying causes. An advisory for the initiation of the first suicide awareness campaign was set to begin September 1, 2019. Several nations, including the Grand Duchy of Westarctica and Republic of West Who, quickly joined in, wanting to help in any way possible. Positions in the campaign ranged from information gathers to simple advertisers

Rebel Conflict of 2018

In April of 2018, former Dracul Intelligence Director Al Fare took it upon himself to create a group of individuals, aimed at targeting and removing the religious peoples of Dracul. When the Federal Government observed this activity, they advised Al Fare to cease his mission. After refusing to cooperate with the Federal Government, Al Fare formed the Dracul Confederacy, which he claimed was a newly created territory of Dracul. This region was never recognized by Dracul or any other micronation for that matter. Conflict broke out in the middle of April and ended on May 9, 2018, with the arrest of Al Fare and his followers. Since the incident, Al Fare has been banished from the community and celebrations are held each year.

Monarch Transition of 2022

In 2022, the Founder's Committee of Dracul began to further envision the nation, in a way which better connected it to the lost royal bloodline of Vlad Tepes. Through various meetings, opinions, and votes, the decision to transform into a Ceremonial Monarchy was agreed upon. Dracul's Parliament made the proposal official on the 5th of September, marking an historic event for the Commonwealth. In order to welcome the incoming Prince, the President and Vice President were soon changed to Chancellor and Vice Chancellor, to allow for the Prince to be Head of State.

ABOUT THE DRACUL FLAG

The Dracul flag stands for our nation and the shared history, pride, principles, and commitment of its people. It also stands for the Order of the Dragon, a society that Vlad III and his father belonged to. When we properly display this powerful symbol, we signal our respect for everything it represents.

The flag shouldn't be flown in inclement weather unless it's an all-weather flag. Flags displayed at night should be properly illuminated. In a time of national mourning, hang the flag at half-mast.

The flag can be flown every day, but it is often flown to show patriotism on these observances:

Founder's Day

Dracul Victory Day

National Flag Day
Tsar Nicholas II Memorial Day

National Foundation Day

Remembrance Day

National Foundation Day
Vlad III's Birthday

Keep your flag completely dry and folded properly -- into a triangle shape -- before storing it in a well-ventilated area. If the flag is damaged or worn out, it should be disposed of with dignity, preferably by burning. The flag should not touch anything below it or rest on the ground.
